Search all the rooms for supplies, and smash any green boxes, then open the door at the end of the hall. Follow the next hallway up, and you will reach a long hallway. Shoot a blast at the door when it closes, and it will slow down enough for you to pass through. Head towards the malfunctioning door, and pick up the Stasis Module. Follow the hallway until you get to a long, open area. Grab the Medkit, go right, and through the door to get another hallway. Search the lockers for supplies, and go through the door. Kendra and Hammond will fill you in on your next objectives, and where to go. Move down the hall and pick up the Audio Log for a useful bit of info, and enter the next room. When you move, always move while in aim mode, this way you'll be able to attack at a moment's notice without having to take the time needed to aim.
Collect any Credits or ammo it drops, and head out into the hallway. Finally, blow off one of its legs to put it down, and if it's still alive, fire a shot into its body to finish it off. Now you'll get a taste of combat! Body shots on Necromorphs do almost nothing, and getting close enough for a melee attack is suicidal at best, so that leaves you with one option: Dismemberment! Blow off one of the Slasher's scythe-arms, and take its head off, too. Stomp the green crate to open it, and either swipe or shoot the electric lock to open the door. Grab the nearby Plasma Cutter, and read the bloody writing on the wall. Hit the call button and get in! Once the elevator stops, investigate the nearby door, which you can't open yet. After Kendra gets the door open, run out of the booth and follow the hallway until you reach an elevator. Once the lights go out, you'll get a quick look at the enemies of the game, the Necromorphs. When the door unlocks, head through and activate the computer.
As soon as you can, use the save station with the camera icon in the corner. Follow the team inside, checking the mail slots on the left for useful items and credits. Take a moment to get used to the controls as you walk along the catwalk. When you're finally given control after the Kellion crashes into the Ishimura, grab the Medkit in the back, and exit the ship. When the chapter begins, you will have no control of the camera, so just enjoy the opening scene.
